Today, the world comes together to mark #InternationalMigrantsDay2024, and we are proud to have joined hands to spotlight the immense contributions of migrant workers. This year’s theme, “Honoring the Contributions of Migrants and Respecting Their Labour Rights,” underscores the vital role migrant workers play in shaping resilient economies and vibrant communities.

Our celebration brought together diverse voices, including migrant workers from Kilifi, Kwale, and Mombasa, alongside passionate advocates and distinguished guests. The event was a powerful reminder of the strength and value that migrants bring to society.

Two impactful panel discussions were at the heart of the day’s activities:
🔹 Panel 1: Policy and Legislation
This discussion examined the existing legal frameworks designed to protect migrant workers, shedding light on both successes and the urgent need to address remaining gaps.

🔹 Panel 2: Rights and Awareness
Focused on empowering migrant workers with the knowledge they need to safeguard their rights, this panel emphasized the importance of creating environments where they can thrive.

As an organization, we proudly reaffirmed our unwavering commitment to advocating for and supporting migrant workers. Through both advocacy efforts and direct interventions, we strive to ensure their voices are heard, their labor rights are upheld, and their contributions are celebrated.

Looking ahead, we envision a future where every migrant worker is protected, respected, and empowered to live and work with dignity and equality.

Together, let us continue to honor and uplift migrant workers—today and every day. Share your reflections or stories about migrant workers in your community and join us in building a fairer, more inclusive world!
